‘Happy Birthday’ as we know, is the song that we sing to celebrate someone’s day of birth. In this post, let’s learn how to play happy birthday on guitar to accompany the singing.
In this lesson we are going to play in the key of ‘G’ and the chords we need are as follows together with it’s sequence:
G – D – D7 – G – G7 – C – G – D – G

The song is in 3/4 time signature, which means there are only 3 beats per every bar. The odd number of beats can make strumming feel a bit weird at first..:)
If you ever sang the happy birthday before, surely you will remember that there is a pause everytime we reach the part where we say the name of the person being celebrated. In this example, that part would be during the chord ‘C’. In the video lesson, I didn’t pause at this part, but you can surely do.
